Course Reserves: Linking to Course Reserves

This is a comprehensive guide aimed at Drexel University Faculty to help you through any and all processes related to our course reserves system.

Intro

In order to utilize Drexel Libraries Course Reserves, you must first set up Leganto in your course in Blackboard. Follow these instructions step-by-step to create the link between your Blackboard course and Leganto. If you have any questions/concerns, or run into any technical issues, please reach out to the course reserves team at reserve@drexel.edu.

Linking Course Reserves to Your Blackboard Course Shell

This guide will cover how to create a link to Drexel Library Course Reserves in your Blackboard course shell. Please remember that this process needs to be completed for each new course you are using course reserves for.

If you have any trouble throughout this process, or additional questions, please contact the reserves team at reserve@drexel.edu.

To begin, log into your Blackboard Learn.

Next, click on the course in which you'd like to link to Drexel Library Course Reserves.

In the upper lefthand corner of the side panel, hover over the small symbol of a circle with a plus sign inside it. When a menu pops up, select "Tool Link".

When you click it, you will be prompted to enter a name for the link.

For this example, we will name ours “Course Reserves”. In the dropdown menu underneath the name, select "Drexel Libraries Course Reserves".

ALWAYS check the box labeled “Available to Users” – otherwise, students will not be able to see the link and access Drexel Libraries Course Reserves. When you are done, click “submit”.

You have now successfully created a link to Drexel Libraries Course Reserves.

If you click on the link, it will take you to the next step - which is to create a list of course reserves and add items to it. This is covered in the following guide.

If you need any further assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact the reserves team at reserve@drexel.edu.
