Welcome to the course reserves LibGuide! Here you will find all the information you need on how to set up and add course reserves.
The Drexel University Libraries’ Course Reserves Service allows instructors to set aside books, films or sound recordings for class use, or to make articles or book excerpts available electronically through Blackboard Learn. Reserve lists typically include required and recommended course readings. Reserves help to alleviate the effect of ever-increasing textbook costs on students, foster student and faculty engagement, and create opportunities for library outreach.
The Drexel University Libraries' Course Reserve Service is designed to connect students with their course materials as seamlessly as possible. Please note that course-required textbooks are not kept on reserve unless requested by an instructor.
Our new course reserves system went live April 1st! Watch the recording of our first online tutorial session below:
Here are some commonly-used terms within our new software, Leganto, and what they mean:
Reading List: this is a list of items, both physical and electronic, that you as the instructor assign to students in your course. In Leganto, this list of items can be organized according to coordinating weeks of the term.
Leganto: the technical name of our new course reserves software.
