E-ZBORROW,  ILLIAD and Holds - CHECK-OUT/CHECK-IN AT SERVICE DESK

E-ZBorrow books (Blue Bands) – Check Out 

  1. Take client’s Drexel ID to see full name.
  2. Books with blue bands shelved on right side of Hold shelf.
  3. Shelved alphabetically by last name.
  4. Pull book from shelf and then “desensitize".
  5. Open Alma.
  6. Open client’s account.
  7. In the Scan Item Barcode box – scan the large barcode on top of the blueband.
  8. Bottom of screen will display the checkout.
  9. * E-ZBorrow items cannot be renewed .

              *If there is a multiple volume set, scan the white Drexel barcode on each volume.

E-ZBorrow books (Blue Bands) – Returned at Service Desk

  1. All E-ZBorrow books being returned go directly into PRAM dropbox.
  2. DO NOT DO A CHECK-IN IN ALMA!!!

ILLiad books (Yellow Bands) – Check Out

  1. Books with yellow bands shelved on left side of Hold Shelf.
  2. Shelved alphabetically by last name.
  3. Take client’s Drexel ID to see full name.
  4. Pull book from shelf and then “desensitize”.
  5. If the book is a multi-volume set, inform the client that all volumes in the set must be checked-out together. Even if the client does not want all volumes, they must check-out the entire set
  6. At work station, click on ILLiad on Toolbar.
  7. ILLiad Web Circulation site will appear on screen.
  8. Login info already preset. Click on Login.
  9. Look for Quick Tasks area. Put cursor in Check-Out.
  10. Scan the barcode displayed on the white label attached to yellow band. If barcode does not work, type the number next to TN: below client’s name.
  11. Message will appear that item was checked – out.

ILLiad books (Yellow Bands) – Check IN

  1. Book with yellow band is returned at Service Desk. 
  2. If you see a mutli-volume sticker on the book/books, do not check it in and give it directly to a manager on duty. 
  3. At work station, click on ILLiad on Toolbar.
  4. ILLiad Web Circulation site will appear on screen.
  5. Login info already preset. Click on Login.
  6. Look for Quick Tasks area. Put cursor in Check-In.
  7. Scan the barcode displayed on the white label attached to yellow band. If barcode does not work, type the number next to TN: below client’s name.
  8. Message will appear that item is checked-in.
  9. ILLIad items must be renewed through client’s ILLiad account. Cannot be renewed at Service Desk.

Drexel Holds – Drexel owned materials. – Check Out

  1. Open Alma.
  2. Open Client’s account.
  3.  To see if there is a hold on an item:

Look at User Notes: area. It will read – User has (1) item waiting for pick-up at this desk. This indicates an item for pick-up.

  • Click on Request tab.  The “hold” will appear on screen with information below blue bar. Drexel owned item hold will read “Patron physical item request” under Request type. And On “Hold Shelf” under Task.
  • These items are shelved on the same shelf as E-Zborrow book and will have a white slip with name (at top) placed in book.
  • Find the book on shelf by client’s last name.
  • Pull the white slip from book and place in black bin on desk next to “Hold Shelves”.
  • Desensitize the item.
  • In Alma, click on Loans tab.
  • Scan Drexel barcode.
  • Loan info will appear for this item on bottom of screen.

Returned /Check in a Drexel item with a NEW hold.

  1. Open Alma.
  2. Click on Return Items tab.
  3. Scan Drexel barcode.
  4. A box will appear on screen that reads :

The Items destination is :

The item’s destination is : On Hold Shelf for (client’s name) and username

  1. Click on OK.
  2. A Hold Slip printout will print to Service Desk copier machine.
  3. Retrieve slip and place in book.
  4. Place the book on hold shelf(same shelves as E-Borrow) in alphabetical order by last name.
