Start with the resources on this page, especially Grove Art Online and our search tool, DragonSearch. Want more online art history resources? Check out Art + Design Online.
Books and articles are your best bet for doing research in art history. Search DragonSearch (below). Keyword search by artist or time period or material such as Donatello or Medieval art or Italian Renaissance architecture.
Tip: search words as a phrase by placing them in quotes (for example, "Peter Paul Rubens"). Can't find what you need? Contact a librarian!
Click the hamburger menu in the upper left and select Settings. Select Library Links and search for Drexel. Select all the Drexel options and hit Save.
Now when you use Google Scholar, a link to full-text items at Drexel University Libraries will appear (GetIt@Drexel). Click this link and it will direct you to the full-text (or search for the article or book title in DragonSearch). Questions? Ask a librarian!
Some museums put their exhibition catalogs and other publications online for free use. Some of this content is in DragonSearch, our library search tool, but not all. I recommend browsing these four collections for possible research material.
