The best website to find job and internship listings from the nonprofit world. Check out their jobs, internships, and volunteer positions in China. However, be aware that listings may be posted by placement programs.
Craigslist Shanghai- Internships
This link goes to their Shanghai site, but Craigslist is operating in Beijing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, and Shenzhen.

CIA World Factbook: China
A great resource for finding basic country information on countries around the world.
U.S.-China Business Council
This organization is composed of 250 companies that do business in China, and seeks to expand the U.S.-China commercial relationship. There is invaluable information here, from a China briefing book, facts and statistics, and a wealth of great links.

Work Placement Programs

AISEC
AISEC is a nonprofit dedicated to promoting cultural understanding and international cooperation, and offers hundreds of management, technical, education, and development internships abroad. You must join AISEC before you can apply for the internship program.
CRCC
Unpaid internships in China. Includes accommodation and lessons in Mandarin.
IAESTE, the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experiences
IAESTE offers paid internships in over 30 countries in technical fields such as engineering, computer science, mathematics, natural/physical sciences, architecture, and agricultural science, for a program fee. Application deadline is December 1st.
Experiential Learning International
ELI places students on 1 to 6 month long internships in Shanghai in a variety of industries. Make sure to apply at least 2 months in advance of your desired start date.
International Cooperative Education
ICE places students on paid international summer and semester-long internships. They recommend applying by mid-March. Students must pay to apply and to be placed in an internship.

Expatriates.com
Expatriates lauds itself as the “online community for expatriates.” It functions like a classifieds for countries around the world. This links to the China apartment listings.
