What to do

  1. Schedule an appointment with the Liaison Librarian for Life Sciences.

    • This will show you the layout of the database and where to find useful options.
  3. Sign up for an EndNote Online account.
    • Create an EndNote "Group" for your project and share it with the others in your lab team.
  4. Contact the librarian if you have more questions.

 

Searching the Biology Literature

Accessing the Full Text of an Article

When searching the in Proquest: Biological Sciences database, you will find that many articles link directly to the full text pdf. If there is no pdf link, use the Get It button to check the Drexel Libraries subscriptions for access. Get It button

Remember, if you do not see an Article link to the pdf on the Get It page, you can request a copy through our Interlibrary Loan system using the "Or, Borrow this item through Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad)" link.

Using Endnote Online for Citations

EndNote will help you to collect reference information for relevant articles, share those references with your lab group, create a bibliography of your references in the correct format, and insert formatted in-text citations while using Microsoft Word.
