  • books and book chapters
  • teaching and learning materials
  • creative works
  • working papers
  • theses and dissertations
  • patents
  • reports

How are publications added?

Publications are added to Drexel Research Discovery via:

  1. Automatic Updates / "Smart Harvest" - Smart Harvest uses an algorithm which automatically captures metadata of publications by Drexel University researchers that are indexed in the Ex Libris Central Discovery Index.  Publications captured through Smart Harvest are approved by library staff before they are added to Drexel Research Discovery.  Smart Harvest runs weekly on all tenure-track faculty, researchers with public profiles, and some research staff.
  2. Bulk Loading and Imports - Lists of publications in CSV, RIS, or BIBTEX format can be imported into Drexel Research Discovery in batch.
  3. Individual Items / "Add Content" - Researchers can sign into Drexel Research Discovery and use the ADD CONTENT button to manually submit publications.  For most publications with a DOI, the submission form will be automatically populated with metadata.  Researchers can also add files and links for their publications. Files are not automatically converted to PDF.

If publications do not have associated full-text files or links, "View Online" options are available, connecting publications to library subscriptions, holdings, or interlibrary loan requests.
