Drexel Libraries Celebrates Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Drexel University Libraries

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility at Drexel Libraries

The Drexel University Libraries is committed to the value of inclusion. We strictly adhere to and enforce the University’s diversity policies and procedures, and all Libraries staff work to promote, support and sustain an environment of diversity, equality, fairness, inclusion, and respect.

This resource guide is meant to highlight just a few of the different ways that the Drexel Libraries promotes Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) in our collections and programming. Check back throughout the year to find resources to celebrate and learn more about a diversity of cultures and heritage, identities, unique perspectives, and much more.

Contact with any contributions, suggestions or ideas to further support diversity, equity, and inclusion at the Drexel Libraries.

Drexel Libraries Anti-Racism Statement

As part of the University's efforts to dismantle racism in policies and practices, the Drexel University Libraries engages in service and teaching that challenges oppressive and unjust forces. We also recognize that information sources may have inherent biases that reflect the primarily white, cis-male viewpoint that permeates American society and academia. The Libraries upholds Drexel University’s core values by curating diverse information sources and programming that creates an inclusive environment and prepares students to become purpose-driven agents of change as we focus our collective expertise on creating a more equitable society.

Accessibility in the Drexel Libraries

The Drexel University Libraries is committed to providing equal access to information to all students, faculty, staff, and members of the Drexel community. Whenever possible, the Libraries will select and acquire resources and technologies that are accessible to all in full compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. For those parts of the historical collections that are not accessible, the Libraries is committed to providing reasonable accommodations and timely access in appropriately reformatted media that are accessible to disabled Libraries users.
