In August 2018, the Drexel Libraries migrated to a new cloud-based library management system. As part of this migration, the Libraries replaced
its current online library catalog with Summon, a powerful yet simple search
tool that will improve access to all the Libraries’ electronic and print resources.
As a user of the Drexel Libraries, here are some of the changes you can expect to see:
The following will NOT be affected by the new systems:
Fall 2017 - The Drexel Libraries selects Alma to replace Millennium
Winter 2018 - The Libraries Project Team assembles & begins system profiling work
Spring 2018 - The Libraries' data are loaded into Alma sandbox for testing, profiling refinement, and staff training.
June 2018 - Libraries staff training continues, final decisions about system settings and profiles are made.
July 2018 - The Libraries' current data are pulled from Millennium and loaded to Alma live-instance
August 1, 2018 - Libraries staff begins using Alma for all internal operations
August 13, 2018 - Drexel community begins using Summon for discovery and access to all Libraries services; Millennium online catalog is officially retired
